Singapore Revival Wells
I have always enjoyed researching the history of places in Singapore. You start with one small question and the ground opens up under it. There is always more there than the surface suggests.
When the place turns out to have a Christian history, it stops being general interest. It becomes mine. It is my own heritage, in the Singapore I live in.
In 2024, while planning a trip to the UK, I came across UK Wells, a site that records where God has moved across Britain and plots it all on a map. Wherever I travelled, I could look and see what had happened near me, and I visited a few of them. One was St Mary Woolnoth in the City of London, the church of John Newton, who wrote Amazing Grace.

Why Revival Wells?
I wrote to Michael Marcel, the man behind the site. He was so warm and welcoming and even came out to meet me at the airport.
This blog is what came of that. The name is borrowed from his, and from Isaac of the Bible, who went back and dug again the wells his father had dug after they had been stopped up with earth.
Singapore has wells like that... places where God moved, and where the ground has since been built over. I will take them one at a time, and list my sources as I go.
